Traditional Hangwa refer to Yumilgwa, Dasik, Jeonggwa, which are
Korean sweets named as such to differentiate them from Western cookies.
Hangwa are traditional sweets of Korea used often together with rice cakes
at weddings, traditional rituals and festivals.
Among Korean sweets are Yumilgwa made by kneading grain powder and
frying the dough in oil Dasik made by kneading powder with honey or grain
syrup and stamped with a board Jeonggwa made of cooked fruits and roots
marinated and boiled down in grain syrup or honey Suksilgwa made of ripened
fruits mixed with other ingredients and boiled down and Taffy gangjeong made
by mixing dried fruits and grains, cooked in a double boiler and mixed with
grain syrup, among others. |
